Students of the Year Savannah

Students of the Year

The Students of the Year campaign is a philanthropic leadership development program through which highly motivated, high-school leaders embark on a journey of professional growth, ensuring that they stand out when preparing for college and beyond. During the program, students foster professional skills such as entrepreneurship, marketing, and project management in order to raise funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Student leaders fundraise for LLS in honor of children who are blood cancer survivors. The title Student(s) of the Year is awarded to the candidate or co-candidate team in each community that raises the most funds during the 7-week competition.

Congratulations to all 2021 Students of the Year candidates and team members. We are currently accepting nominations for 2022 candidates.

This year, we had 10 teams made up of 25 candidates and more than 100 team members come together to raise over $434,000 for LLS's mission to cure blood cancers.  Congratulations to all of our 2021 Savannah Students of the Year participants and to our winning team, Mission: Milestones, led by Emiline Baxter and Mary Tippins Solana, and our runners-up, Got CUREage, led by Lilla Brennan, Carson Cook, and Ella Stone. We also want to congratulate our Mission Integration Award Recipients, Team Cats for a Cure, led by Brena Loveless, Cecilia Mateo, and Saddie Hamilton, and our Community Involvement Award Recipients, Answer for Cancer, led by Megan Gladden, Caroline Kurinji, and Haley Henderson. Finally, we want to recognize our Team Member of the Year, from team Mission: Milestones, Hayden Anderson!
