Students of the Year

The Students of the Year campaign is a philanthropic leadership development program through which highly motivated, high-school leaders embark on a journey of professional growth, ensuring that they stand out when preparing for college and beyond. During the program, students foster professional skills such as entrepreneurship, marketing, and project management in order to raise funds for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). Student leaders fundraise for LLS in honor of children who are blood cancer survivors. The title Student(s) of the Year is awarded to the candidate or co-candidate team in each community that raises the most funds during the 7-week competition.

Congratulations to all 2018 Students of the Year candidates and team members. We are currently accepting nominations for 2019 candidates.

  • Camryn Beggs
    October 3, 2018

Camryn is a freshman at Mill Valley High School in Shawnee, KS. Camryn was diagnosed on February 6, 2017 with T-Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma. Camryn endured intense treatments for months, both in and out of the hospital. In December 2018 she entered the maintenance phase of her treatment and will take both oral medication and chemotherapy on a monthly basis until May of 2019.

Camryn swims competitively throughout the year and is excited to swim in high school this year. She faced her diagnosis with grace and optimism. She is a wonderful sister to her 5 siblings that she shares between her two families.

The 2019 candidates will raise funds in honor of Camryn!
